I enjoyed looking at the web site of the Golden Eagle Resort. My wife and I with our two children enjoyed many stays at the Golden Eagle in the early 90's. We have since moved back to St Louis from Newport, Vermont and wanted to thank the Golden Eagle staff for wonderful memories and great facilities.
We just returned from a 3 night stay with you this week. We just wanted to pass along our thanks for a great time. The clean room, wonderful breakfast, fantastic pool and games room were enjoyed by all of us. Our children also had a good time at the Kids Pizza & Movie night and loved the cookie and hot chocolate in the main lodge. We all had fun snowshoeing in the afternoons in the beautifully maintained grounds
alot of fun but they can give more stuff for teens.
We have been coming to the Golden Eagle almost every year since the kids were young. They are grown and we only have one coming with us now.
We have always loved it here. Always tacking on extra days after being here and not wanting to leave.
The accommodations and grounds are always clean and kept immaculate. The service and staff is always very helpful and friendly.
Since coming here, I have wanted to move up here , it's so beautiful.
We checked in about 3:30 PM on July 3rd, 2008,(Thursday) and spent two nights. Checked out at 11:00 on (Saturday), July 5th. Both the outdoor pool (by the clubhouse) and the huge indoor pool and huge hot tub in a seperate location off from the pool was awesome.. Hot tub was a little too hot to stay very long in it, but very relaxing. The pool was just right temps and large enough that it was not overcrowded.
The room was within easy stones throw from the clubhouse. horseshoes, shuffleboard, were also played by us. The resturant breakfast was super... the staff was very friendly. It was clean, not over fancy but very enjoyable. We had a deluxe room with a whirlpool tub which was relaxing too. Easy walk to downtown where we shopped and also ate. Close to all actitives, and we did the Mt Mansfield mountain toll road drive and walked a couple of mile on the long trail. Came back to the hot tub and it really was great. Our son and his family also had a room with fireplace. Great family time and we plan on making return trips to Stowe and stay at the Golden Eagle.
Just returned from a 4 night stay and I must say the remarks about the staff and the cleanliness are right on. We stayed with our pet and I am always concerned that we will be placed in a less than desirable room. Not the case at the Golden Eagle. Our room was very clean and the location of pet rooms near the trails and woods is perfect. Thanks to the Management and Staff for a pleasant stay from all three of us.
I just finished a 3 day stay at the golden Eagle resort and found everything to be just perfect! From the the clean comfortable rooms to the friendly staff that make you feel right at home.This resort will be a great memory For many years and A return visit for sure. Being centeral to everything in Stowe ,you can venture out and explore the surroundings or just layback and enjoy all that the Golden Eagle resort has to offer you.

Loved the location of this Resort, the 89 acres, the well marked hiking trails. Definately plan on coming back!
We just returned from a four night stay and must say that the first two nights of our stay were fantastic. The room was clean, the breakfast was wonderful and the ambience provided much needed relaxation. However, the last two nights of our stay were not as pleasant...everything changed when a ski group arrived and broke the peaceful night tranquility. While we appreciate that the night staff tried to quiet our partying neighbors on both occasions and an olive branch was offered on the second night with a quiet room option, it just wasn't the same experience. When asked how our stay was upon checkout, our customer service representative made comments to suggest that our poor experience was due to our lack of adapting to the new situation. We have stayed at your facility many times over the years and came this most recent time for our 10th anniversary. Sure wish our staying experience had ended on a better note.
